Why Write Notes on Photos?

Day 4 to highlight the Art of Handwriting and your Family through January 23rd, National Handwriting Day.

Pittsburgh, PA 1958 - my parents are renting a 3rd floor apartment in Highland Park, and my mom documents their home in a plastic spiral-ringed photo book.

Years later, as a very young kid I remember being flummoxed by my mom's handwriting. What could it possibly mean? How glad I am that I learned cursive and can now read her handwriting!

The note on the first photo says, "Our house is third from the right." The second says, "Here it's in the middle of the picture between the tree and the telephone pole."

Hope to see some of your family written treasures!
